PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image with high image quality to be also displayed while allowing an image subjected to halftone processing to be displayed at a high speed.SOLUTION: An image processing section acquires image data before conversion with (a) gradation. The image processing section generates first image data after conversion indicating an image obtained by performing halftone processing on an image indicated in the image data before conversion in accordance with a blue noise masking method. The display section displays the image subjected to the halftone processing according to the first image data after conversion. Subsequently, the image processing section quickly generates second image data after conversion indicating an image obtained by performing the halftone processing on the image indicated in the image data before conversion in accordance with an error diffusion method or does so after a predetermined period of time has elapsed or after waiting for instructions by a user in accordance with a power supply state. The display section overwrites the image subjected to the halftone processing according to the second image data after conversion on an image having been already displayed and displays the image overwritten thereby.
