PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerged arc welding method which enables superior weld quality by reducing entrapment of slag regardless of flux composition or an electrode location.SOLUTION: A submerged arc welding method for steel is characterized in that the welding current is an alternating current and that the alternating frequency f (Hz) satisfies formula (1): 24≤f×&phgr;/(n×Vf)≤26, wherein n: the natural number, Vf: the wire feeding speed (m/min), and &phgr;: the wire diameter (mm). |
