This remote control system is provided with a relay device that is capable of moving within a space in which a device to be controlled is installed, and a communication device that is operated by a user and communicates with the relay device. The relay device is controlled by the communication device and includes an imaging unit, a transmission unit that transmits captured images to the communication device, and a transmission unit that wirelessly transmits instruction signals to the device to be controlled. The communication device includes the following: a memory unit that associates and stores an image of the space taken beforehand, a partial region of the image, and a request to move to a target location and/or a request to send an instruction signal; a display unit that displays the image; a detection unit that detects a position specified by a user within the image; and a request transmission unit that transmits the request to the relay device in a case where the detected position and the image satisfy prescribed conditions. |
