PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound that has excellent hole transporting properties.SOLUTION: A polymer compound has the following (1) and (2) as repeating units. (1) A repeating unit that consists of a compound in which two thiophene compounds are condensed in a direction of a point symmetry at a symmetry site of a benzene nucleus, and (2) a repeating unit that consists of a compound in which a six-membered ring compound derivative that has a carbonyl group at 1, 4 positions or a five-membered cyclic compound derivative or the like that has a carbonyl group at 1, 3 positions is condensed to a thiophene-based compound, a furan-based compound, a pyrrole-based compound or a phenylene-based compound or the like at a specific position.
