PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a setting value of a power factor for maximizing reactive power generated by a synchronous motor without the necessity for additional components in existing equipment.SOLUTION: The automatic power factor control device includes: active power detector 2 that detects active power of electric power generated by a synchronous motor 6; a power factor computing unit 3 that calculates a setting value of a power factor of electric power generated by the synchronous motor 6 on the basis of active power detected by the active power detector 2 and a coefficient of margin that is a predetermined setting value; and an automatic power factor regulator (APFR) 4 that controls field currents of the synchronous motor 6 on the basis of the setting value of the power factor calculated by the power factor calculating unit 3. |
