PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain thermal shock resistance of a tip portion of a gas sensor element, and to secure insulation between electrode pads arranged at a rear end of the gas sensor element, and a contacting property between the electrode pads and a connection terminal.SOLUTION: A gas sensor includes a gas sensor element 120 having a chamfered portion 200. The chamfered portion 200 includes a tip chamfer 210 formed on a tip side of the gas sensor element 120, a rear end chamfer 220 formed on a rear end side of the gas sensor element 120, and an intermediate chamfer 230 linking the tip chamfer 210 with the rear end chamfer 220. A chamfer angle r2 of the rear end chamfer 220 is formed so as to be greater than a chamfer angle r1 of the tip chamfer 210. Accordingly, the gas sensor can secure insulation between a plurality of electrode pads, and a contacting property between the electrode pads and a connection terminal, and can maintain thermal shock resistance of a tip portion of the gas sensor element to be exposed to an exhaust gas. |
