PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body weight increase inhibitor capable of sufficiently obtaining an inhibitory effect on body weight gain (diet effect) even if the concentration of an active ingredient is very small, and excellent in safety.SOLUTION: This body weight increase inhibitor includes as an active ingredient a ferulic acid ester generated by esterifying the carboxy group of a ferulic acid and the hydroxy group of a chain aliphatic alcohol. Thus, the suppression effect on an original body weight increase of ferulic acid decomposed after being absorbed can be sufficiently drawn in order to enhance the absorption of the ferulic acid ester to be the active ingredient to an organ or the like upon ingestion. Therefore, even if the concentration of the active ingredient is very small, the inhibitory effect on body weight gain can be sufficiently obtained. Moreover, the body weight increase inhibitor is excellent in safety since the concentration of the active ingredient is very small, food preference can be utilized without having an influence on the taste inherent in the food even if adding to the food or the like. |
