PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glue applying device in which a proper amount glue can be applied to back parts of a plurality of sheet bundle having different thicknesses, and to provide a bookbinding device.SOLUTION: A glue applying device 20 includes: a glue roller 21 that applies a glue N to a back parts of a plurality of sheet bundles H; a doctor blade 22c that is close to a roller surface 21a of the glue roller 21 and rakes the glue N adhering to the roller surface 21a; a doctor driving part 25 that drives the doctor blade 22c and adjusts a distance between the doctor blade 22c and the roller surface 21a; and a control part 60 that controls a driving amount of the doctor blade 22c driven by the doctor driving part 25 based on each of the thicknesses of the plurality of sheet bundles H. |
