Systems and methods for incentives which involve receiving a contribution from a user or through a value card, wherein the contribution enables the user to be eligible for an incentive upon completing an event; monitoring user activities to detect the occurrence of the event, wherein the event is a socially beneficial task completed by the user; and providing the incentive to the user or the value card associated with the user upon detecting the occurrence of the event. In accordance with some embodiments, the systems and methods may involve calculating at least one emission value for emissions generated by the incentive, wherein the event and incentive are associated with raw activity data; and calculating at least one offset value to offset the emissions generated by the incentive using the at least one emission value for emissions generated by the incentive.
