PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which, when the fuel cell has stopped operating, can achieve both sufficient temperature lowing rate and highly reliable reform reaction in a reformer of the fuel cell.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 1 comprises a fuel cell 10, a reformer 11, combustion means for heating the reformer by burning excess fuel gas in the fuel cell, a fuel pump 23 which sends out raw fuel to the reformer, and control means 20 which controls a raw fuel flow rate. When the fuel cell temperature is lowered when the fuel cell has stopped operating, the control means 20 exerts control in such a way that raw fuel supply by the fuel pump 23 is performed in a first time zone and raw fuel supply by the fuel pump 23 is stopped in a second time zone within a predetermined temperature range, the first and the second time zones being alternately repeated. This ensures that a stack temperature is lowered quickly, and that highly reliable reform reaction in the reformer 11 is maintained. |
