PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable in which, even when cable is applied with bending, compressive strain and tensile strain are hard to act on water infiltration-detecting coated optical fibers, and no addition of an excessive extra-length occurs.SOLUTION: In an optical fiber cable 1, a plurality of optical fiber units 2, water infiltration-detecting coated optical fibers 3, and a buffer body 4 are housed therein by a pipe-like sheath 7 provided with two tension members 5 and 6. The water infiltration-detecting coated optical fibers 3, without being subjected to twists in the longitudinal direction of the cable, is attached along cable in the longitudinal direction, and is also disposed at a center position O surrounded by the optical fiber units 2 and at the position on a neutral line N in bending the cable. |
