The device (1) has two anchoring parts (16, 17) spaced from each other by an anchoring gap (18). A hollow cylindrical yoke (19) is fixed in a region of the gap. An actuator (3) is movable between two stable end positions and convertible from one of the positions into the other position by application of current in a coil (5). One of the anchoring parts comprises a smaller axial overlap (21) with the yoke than the other anchoring part in the positions. A bi-stable helical spring (28) is arranged at the actuator such that holding force of the spring restrains the actuator in the positions. The actuator is designed as a multi-position actuator.
