PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for retrofitting a production apparatus constituted of post print processing machines which can be fully automatically and/or partially automatically retrofitted rapidly and can be retrofitted by a small number of persons.SOLUTION: In a method and an apparatus for retrofitting a production apparatus constituted of a plurality of post print processing machines, each post printing processing machine being provided with a machine controlling device, in which successive different production orders are carried out to process partial products into printed matters, when the last partial product of a first production order has left one post print processing machine is confirmed first, and then this post print processing machine is automatically retrofitted.
