PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve continuity of ventilation and energy saving of a ventilator without carrying out unnecessary defrost operation in a heat exchange ventilator used in a building such as a house, an office, or the like.SOLUTION: A heat exchange ventilator 1 includes an air supply fan 2, an air exhaust fan 6, a heat exchange element 10, an ambient air temperature sensor 11, and a microcomputer 13. In the heat exchanger ventilator, the microcomputer 13 calculates a natural ventilation amount based on an ambient air temperature detected by the ambient air temperature sensor 11, and controls the rotation speed of the air supply fan 2 and the air exhaust fan 6 to have an air ventilation amount that is an amount obtained by subtracting the natural ventilation amount from the necessary ventilation amount. The ventilator is provided with an exhaust air flow amount sensor 12. The microcomputer 13 is configured to carry out an operation for defrost when an exhaust air flow amount detected by the exhaust air flow amount sensor 12 does not satisfy the ventilation amount that is an amount obtained by subtracting the natural ventilation amount from the necessary ventilation amount, thus improving continuity of ventilation and the energy saving of the ventilator without performing an unnecessary defrost operation. |
