The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a CIGS thin-film solar cell and to a solar cell manufactured thereby, and, more particularly, to a method for manufacturing a CIGS thin-film solar cell and to a solar cell manufactured thereby, which improve the electrical properties of a CIGS thin film serving as a light absorption layer of a solar cell, by forming a sodium-source thin film on a portion of a surface of a substrate not containing sodium and having a molybdenum electrode formed thereon, before forming a precursor CIGS thin film. According to the present invention, a substrate not containing sodium is used to prevent the diffusion of an undesirable sodium content of the substrate, and a sodium content is provided in a CIGS thin film that is the light absorption layer of a solar cell from a separate sodium source in order to improve the efficiency of the solar cell.
