<p>The present invention provides a steam generating system that can generate the amount of steam demanded while keeping the heat received from a first heating medium at a low level. The steam generating system generates steam using first hot water as a heat source and is provided with the following: a primary heat pump (1) in which a primary refrigerant is circulating and that is provided with a primary evaporator (13) that transfers heat from the first heating medium to a primary refrigerant; a secondary heat pump (2) in which a secondary refrigerant is circulating and that is provided with a first evaporator (24) that transfers heat from the first refrigerant to a second refrigerant, and a secondary condenser (22) that generates steam by transferring the heat from the secondary refrigerant. The steam generating system is characterized by having an engine (3) that supplies waste heat to a second heating medium and by the secondary heat pump (2) being further provided with a second evaporator (25) that transfers heat from the second heating medium to the second refrigerant.</p> |
