The head (11) has a set of planar projections (14) formed on a support structure (12) for enclosing a receiving space (15) of a dental compound in a planar configuration, where stiffness of the projections is less than stiffness of the support structure. The projections are arranged parallel to one another with respect to a width extent. A diameter of the head is equal to 3 mm. An intermediate projection is arranged in an inner side of the receiving space. Surface area of the intermediate projection is smaller than surface area of adjacent projections. An independent claim is also included for an applicator unit comprising a container.
