PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact apparatus for conveying a medium by an appropriate load.SOLUTION: An image reading unit 30 is configured so that a front conveyance driven roller 52aa comes in contact with a front conveyance driving roller 51aa, which is rotationally driven to hold an original G therebetween and convey the original G. The front conveyance driven roller 52aa is rotatably supported by a bearing 62aa held by a front conveyance driven roller bracket 63a. The front conveyance driven roller bracket 63a is connected to a stepped screw 64aa extending through a stay 66, and besides, a second spring 67aa is inserted in a space of the stay. A first spring 65aa is inserted into the front conveyance driven roller bracket 63a of the stepped screw 64aa, and a prescribed distance is defined between the tip of the stepped screw 64aa and the bearing 62a. The front conveyance driven roller 52aa is configured to apply, in accordance with the thickness of the original G, a successively-increasing load, that is, only the load of the front conveyance drive roller bracket 63a, an elastic force of the first spring 65aa, and an elastic force of the second spring 67. |
