PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce discomfort that occurs when augmented reality is realized in a head-mounted display device serving as an optical transmission type.SOLUTION: A head-mounted display device by which a user can simultaneously and visually recognize a virtual image and an external view comprises: an imaging section that images a view and acquires an external view image; an augmented reality processing section that generates additional image data for augmented reality in response to analysis results while analyzing the external view image acquired; display elements for generating image light by using the additional image data generated; and light guiding sections for forming the virtual image in front of eyes of a user by using the image light generated. The augmented reality processing section acquires an overlapping area where a display area of the virtual image and an imaging area of the imaging section overlap with each other out of the external view image and generates the additional image data by using the overlapping area. |
