The purpose of the present invention is to provide a fluorescence detection device capable of accurately detecting the intensity of fluorescence from a sample, even if a microarray is used in which a thick sample is arranged relative to the irradiation direction of excitation light on the sample. This fluorescence detection device (6) detects fluorescence from a light-permeable sample (4) including a fluorescent substance, and comprises: an excitation light irradiation means (12) that irradiates excitation light on the sample; a detection means (18) that detects fluorescence from the sample; and an irradiation angle adjustment means (14) that adjusts the irradiation angle of the excitation light relative to the sample, in accordance with the dimensions of the sample. |
