<p>This manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display comprises: a step in which a continuous first optical film (100), which is formed from a polyvinyl alcohol resin film containing a dichroic substance and having an Nz coefficient of at least 1.10 and which comprises a polarizing film having an absorption axis in the widthwise direction thereof, is slit to a width corresponding to one set of opposing sides of a liquid crystal cell (200), and while the first optical film (100) is fed from an optical film roll (300) obtained by winding the slit first optical film (100), the first optical film (100) is cut in the widthwise direction to a length corresponding to the other set of opposing sides of the liquid crystal cell (200); a step in which a continuous second optical film (100'), which comprises a polarizing film having an absorption axis in the lengthwise direction thereof, is slit to a width corresponding to the one set of opposing sides of the liquid crystal cell (200), and while the second optical film (100') is fed from an optical film roll (300') obtained by winding the slit second optical film (100'), the second optical film (100') is cut in the widthwise direction to a length corresponding to the other set of opposing sides of the liquid crystal cell (200); a step in which the cut first optical film (100) is adhered to one surface of the liquid crystal cell (200); and a step in which the cut second optical film (100') is adhered to the other surface of the liquid crystal cell (200).</p> |
