<p>A purpose of the present invention is to provide a contact lens package having a novel structure, the contact lens package being configured so that the contact lens package can be subjected to a treatment process such as a hydration treatment while the lens is received in the recess of a container body and so that the manufacturing process can be simplified and operated easily. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel method capable of advantageously manufacturing such a contact lens package. A contact lens package is provided with a recess (22) which contains both a contact lens (18) and a storage solution (20), a container body (12) which has a flange-like section (26) expanding in the direction toward the outer periphery from the opening peripheral edge (24) of the recess (22), and a cover sheet (16) which is superposed on the container body (12) and which is secured in a peelable manner to the entire periphery of the opening peripheral edge (24) of the recess (22) to seal the recess (22), a water discharge hole (38) which is provided in the recess (22), and a lid member (14) which seals the water discharge hole (38) of the recess (22).</p> |
