<p>A wide-area multilateration system is configured from four or more receiving stations (1-5) for receiving a response signal from an aircraft (11), and a central station (7) for determining the position of the aircraft (11) on the basis of the time each of the receiving stations (1-5) received the response signal. The central station (7) has a positioning means for determining the 2-dimensional position of the aircraft (11) by using the response signal received by three of the receiving stations, and the pressure altitude information of the aircraft (11) contained in the response signal. As a result, the provided wide-area multilateration system is capable of positioning an aircraft even in environments where calculation was not conventionally possible, and capable of contributing to the improvement of the detectability of an aircraft and to a reduction in the number of stations in a system.</p> |
