NARROW GAUGE HIGH STRENGTH CHOKED WET TIP MICROWAVE ABLATION ANTENNA Abstract An electromagnetic surgical ablation probe (100) having a coaxial feedline (102) s and cooling chamber (117) is disclosed. The disclosed probe (100) includes a dipole antenna arrangement having a radiating section, a distal tip (120) coupled to a distal end (122) of the radiating section, and a ring-like balun short (110), or choke, which may control a radiation pattern of the probe (100). A conductive tube (146) disposed coaxially around the balun short ( 110) includes at least one fluid conduit which provides coolant, 1o such as dionized water, to a cooling chamber (117) defined within the probe (100).
