PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which easily and automatically sets print paper (label continuous body 14) at a print start position thereof and prints information on the first sheet of the printing paper 14, and to provide a printing paper setting device thereof and a printing paper setting method thereof.SOLUTION: Paper detection sensors are provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of a printing part 5, respectively. A printer has the printing part 5 which has a thermal head 27 and a platen roller 28, and a paper detecting part 3 which detects the position of the printing paper 14. The paper detecting part 3 has a first paper sensor positioned on the upstream side of the printing part 5 (first upstream sensor 24, second upstream sensor 25) and a second paper sensor disposed on the downstream side of the printing part 5 (downstream sensor 26). The printing part 5 performs a forward conveyance operation that conveys the printing paper 14 to the downstream side, and a reverse conveyance operation that conveys the printing paper 14 to the upstream side. |
