A system and method for user authentication over a communication network are disclosed. The system includes a first device having a contact application and a second device having a contact application. A second device is authenticated by transmitting a first security key associated with the first device from the second device to the first device. The system and method provide a means for users of a communication network to uniquely identify one another, which allows users to be uniquely identified and authenticated independent of a device, network, and/or application used for communication. |
