The computer-implemented method involves connecting two computers over a network. Two application programs run on the two computers, by which a user represents the data set, navigates the data set and modifies the data set on the two computers. The modified data set is represented and navigated in real time on the latter computer immediately after the data set is modified on the former computer. The representation and navigation of the data set on the former computer takes place independent of the representation and navigation of the data set on the latter computer.
