<p>Disclosed are a backlight module and a liquid crystal display device using same. The backlight module comprises a rear frame (2) and an optical member located on the rear frame (2), a location hole is provided on the optical member, a location pillar (3) correspondingly provided on the rear frame (2) runs through the location hole to locate the optical member, and the diameter of a root portion (32) of the location pillar (3) is smaller than or equal to the diameter of a pillar body (31). The diameter of the root portion of the location pillar of the backlight module is smaller than or equal to the diameter of the pillar body, so that when the location pillar is mounted on the rear frame, the root portion of the location pillar does not affect the mounting position. Even though a gap between the pillar body and a side wall of the rear frame is zero, the root portion and the side wall of the rear frame do not interfere with each other. Because a zero gap or a small gap can be arranged between the location pillar and the side wall of the rear frame, a side frame of the backlight module can be further narrowed, thereby further increasing the ratio of a visual area, and reducing the cost of the side frame.</p> |
