<p>A hand dryer 2 comprising a plurality of nozzles 10, 12 and a blower arranged to blow air through the nozzles 10, 12, wherein each nozzle 10, 12 is configured to produce a vortex jet. The nozzles 10, 12 can be arranged such that the vortex jets converge towards each other. Preferably the nozzles are directed towards a focal region. Figure 3 shows that each nozzle includes a tangential arrangement of an air inlet duct 22 which generates rotational flow within the vortex chamber to generate a vortex within the vortex chamber 20, whilst the tapered section 28 causes the rotational speed of the vortex to accelerate as it approaches the nozzle outlet 24.</p> |
