PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel route display for displaying a travel route of its user's own vehicle, without giving a sense of incongruity to persons who watch its map. SOLUTION: For displaying a map including the own vehicle and the travel route on a liquid crystal monitor 4, the travel route display includes: a map data storage 5 which stores map information including position information representing the shapes of roads, and a GPS device 3 for acquiring the current position of the own vehicle. The travel route where the own vehicle travels is detected by a travel route detection section 12, by referring to the map information stored in the map data storage 5 and using the current position of the own vehicle obtained by the GPS device 3. When a map including the own vehicle is displayed using the map information stored in the map data storage 5, a drawing controller 13 allows the travel route detected by the detection section 12 to be displayed at the forefront surface in the liquid crystal monitor 4, comparably with other information contained in the map information.
