METHOD FOR PRODUCING REGENERATED ELASTIC ROLLER, REGENERATED ELASTIC ROLLER, ELECTRONIC PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND ELECTRONIC PHOTOGRAPHY IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A regenerated elastic rollers manufacturing process is provided in which an agglutinated stain of toner is removed from the surface of an elastic roller without damaging them and impairing their properties to make the roller reusable as various elastic rollers of image forming apparatuses utilizing an electrophotographic process. An electrophotographic process cartridge and an electrophotographic image forming apparatus are also provided which use the regenerated elastic roller and can promote effective utilization of resources. The process includes the step of removing an agglutinated stain of toner adhered to the surface of an elastic roller including a mandrel and an elastic layer, which has the steps of (1) pressing a pressing roller against the elastic roller to apply pressure thereto, and (2) contacting an adhesive roller having an adhesive layer on its surface with the elastic roller, to adhere the agglutinated stain to the adhesive roller.
