The valve (1) comprises valve housing (2), valve portions (3) and a coolant channel (4). The valve housing is converted between a closure position and an open position. The coolant channel is blocked by the valve portion in the closure position. The coolant channel is released by the valve portion in the open position. The valve portion is sealed opposite to the valve housing over a flexible indication seal. The flexible indication seal is pushed away in the open position of the valve housing at a stop. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) cooling system of motor car; and (2) method for operating cooling system.
