<p>In a glove box for a vehicle, when a lid (14) for opening/closing a storage box (13) provided on an instrument panel (11) is in the closed position, then latching pawls (21b) provided in the lid (14) are latched into latching holes (13f) provided in the storage box (13). Due to the above, even if, during collision of the vehicle, the occupant hits the instrument panel (11) by way of a second collision, resulting in the storage box (13) being deformed, the aforementioned storage box (13) is deformed together with the lid (14),
since ribs (20b) for the lid (14) are inserted into the latching holes (13f) in the storage box (13). Therefore, the positional relationships between the lathing pawls (21b) in the lid (14) and the latching holes (13f) in the storage box (13) are kept from changing. Thus it is possible to prevent the situation where the lathing pawls (21b) disengage from the latching holes (13f), resulting in the lid being open. This is a simple structure wherein merely a pair of ribs (20b) are added to the storage box (13), and therefore, it is possible to realize the structure at low cost.</p> |
