<p>A container 100 comprising an outer box 1, an inner sleeve 2, and at least one spacer 5 disposed between the inner sleeve and the outer box. The inner sleeve is cushioned to protect an item from damage during transport. The box is suitable for transporting a flat screen television or monitor, for example for repair or recycling. The inner sleeve may have cushioned or inflatable pockets, with an undulating outer surface. There may further be securing means such as hook and loop fasteners on straps 11, and a lid comprising flaps 6, 7, 8 with reinforced eyelets 9, 10 configured to overlap each other in a closed position, co-aligning the holes and allowing for fixing means to be received therein. Alternatively, self-adhesive strips (figure 8) may be provided to seal the flaps of the lid shut. Reinforcing struts may also be present. The stand of the television or monitor may be secured within the box without disassembly. There may be a plurality of spacers made of resiliently deformable material such as foam and triangular in shape. A method of transporting televisions or monitors in the box is also disclosed.</p> |
