PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of regulating the telescopic movement end and the collapse movement in a secondary collision, without requiring a separation mechanism from a vehicle body. SOLUTION: On the telescopic movement end on the vehicle body front side of an inner column 10, a shock absorbing member 66 of a front plate 62 of a stopper 60 abuts on an impact energy absorbing plate 72. Since the impact energy absorbing plate 72 is plastically deformed by impact force in abutment and retreats to the vehicle body upper side from the inside of a long hole 40, the stopper 60 can move by a collapse to the vehicle body front side by going over the telescopic movement end on the vehicle body front side. Impact energy in a collision is absorbed by plastic deformation of the impact energy absorbing plate 72, and an impact load applied to a driver is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
