[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A lighting fitting for a horizontal linear light source (fluorescent discharge lamp) a, comprises a transparent panel having a plain upper area d and a prismatic lower area d<SP>1</SP>, arranged on each side of the light source, and superposed reflectors f, g reflector f being disposed above and reflector g extending from each side of said light source. The prismatic areas d<SP>1</SP> of the panels have horizontally extending ribs. The reflector f, which is arcuate in in form on each side of a vertical plane through the lamp axis, directs light from the lamp a through the plain upper areas of the transparent side panels. The reflectors g, which are rectangular in shape and suspended from the reflector f, are horizontally disposed above the axis of the lamp a so that direct light from the lamp a is prevented from passing through the plain upper areas d of the panels but is re-directed to pass through the prismatic lower areas d<SP>1</SP>. |
