PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope device that uses an electrostatic encoder as a lens position detecting means, and performs accurate lens positioning while preventing enlargement and complication of an insertion part tip mechanism. SOLUTION: This endoscope device 2 detects a position of a movable lens 32 using the electrostatic encoder having two electrodes arranged while being separated from each other by a predetermined distance. The endoscope device 2 includes a position calculating section for calculating the position of the lens 32 based on the output value of the electrostatic encoder, and a linearity correcting section for performing correction processing of correcting the value of the position of the lens 32 calculated by the position calculating section into a value showing the position of the lens 32 measured by a non-contact displacement gage 82.
