The method involves measuring measurement signal values at first and second time points, where the first time point lies before the second time point. Attenuated signal values are generated from the measurement signal values that are subjected to a smoothing i.e. exponential smoothing, with a damping factor. A different attenuation factor is generated based on a difference of one of the measurement signal values at the second time point and one of the attenuated signal values at the first time point. |
