METHOD FOR QUALIFYING A DATA CABLE FOR ETCS SIGNALLING DATA

The method involves measuring real output voltage signal (Ues), which falls over a data transfer unit (6) in response to a transfer signal guided over real data cables (AD1, AD2). The voltage signal is analyzed with respect to voltage and/or frequency characteristics. A cable parameter of the cables is determined based on comparison of a reference output voltage signal and the voltage signal. The real data cables are qualified as cables suitable for transmitting European train control system-signaling data during fulfillment of predetermined masses for the cable parameter.
