PURPOSE: A composition for preventing and treating bone metabolic diseases is provided to suppress differentiation and activation of osteoclast and to promote differentiation of osteoblast using an Aquilaria agallocha extract, thereby preventing and treating bone metabolic diseases without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating bone metabolic diseases contains an Aquilaria agallocha extract as an active ingredient. The bone metaolic diseases are osteoprosis, Paget disease, periodontal disease, metastatic cancer, or rheumatoid arthritis. The extract is prepared using water, low carbon number alcohols, acetone, hexane, ether, or a mixture thereof. The extract is Aquilaria agallocha oil. |
