PURPOSE: A method for controlling a dryer is provided to improve energy efficiency with using a heat pump system, to reduce drying time with additionally using a heater, and to use both of the heat pump system and the heater. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a dryer includes: a step (S110) of operating a heat pump system when the heat pump system and a heater are selected as heat sources; steps (S121,S122) of operating the heater after normally operating the heat pump system; a step (S222) of cooling a drum after starting drying, and finishing the operation of the heater in order to finish drying; and a step (S233) of finishing the operation of the heat pump system after finishing the operation of the heater.
