PURPOSE: A battery energy storage device is provided to reduce wire connection through wireless telecommunications between a battery pack and a battery management device and to easily perform the exchange of a cell module or the assembly of the battery pack. CONSTITUTION: A battery energy storage device (10) comprises: a cell module (200) which individually charges or discharges a cell using a first control signal which is included in a battery pack (100) and is wirelessly transmitted; and a battery management device (300) which wirelessly transmits the first control signal which is produced based on status information received from the cell module to the cell module. The battery management device comprises a battery management unit (310) and a wireless communications module (330).
