An air conditioning system for a vehicle is provided to prevent spark and discharge noise caused between a negative ion discharge electrode and a positive ion discharge electrode by allowing an ion generator to stop operation when the humidity of air introduced into an air case is high. An air conditioning system for a vehicle comprises an air conditioning case(10), an intake door(15), and an ion generator(40). The air conditioning case has an outdoor air inlet(12), an indoor air inlet(14), and an inner passage(16). The intake door operates an outdoor air mode and an indoor air mode. The ion generator discharges negative ions and positive ions into the inner passage. The ion generator includes a negative ion discharge electrode(46) and a positive ion discharge electrode(48), which are extended into the inner passage. The air conditioning system further comprises a humidity detection member(60) for detecting humidity of air transferring into the discharge electrodes, and a control unit(70). If the humidity exceeds a predetermined level, the control unit turns off the ion generator. |
