A pouch type secondary battery is provided to facilitate folding work at the position of an electrode tab or a sealing portion of an electrode assembly, to prevent a short or galvanic corrosion caused by the contact between a pouch layer and a protection circuit board, and to realize a compact structure. A pouch type secondary battery comprises a pouch(20) formed by sealing an upper pouch layer(22) and a lower pouch layer(24) with each other partially or totally at the outer circumference thereof, and an electrode assembly received inside the pouch. In the pouch type secondary battery, the pouch further comprises a cut region(25) is formed from each outer end, wherein the cut region has orthogonal folded portions at both sides of sealing portions based on the electrode tab of the electrode assembly drawn to the exterior. |
