The base plate (10) has tool holders (11, 11') designed to accommodate crimping tools (3, 3') and intended to insert the crimping tools in a press. Supply slots (12, 12') are provided for receiving reservoirs (13, 13') capable of containing multiple nuts to be crimped, and distributors (14, 14') are provided for automatically conveying the nuts from the reservoirs to the crimping tools, so that the base plate integrally carries and loads the crimping tools, the reservoirs, and the distributors to and from the press. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a crimping installation for crimping nuts (2) a method for crimping nuts.
