PURPOSE: A multi lane control module using a control signal of a physical layer and method thereof are provided to control the power of a lane to cope with a defect of the lane. CONSTITUTION: A multi lane control module using a control signal of a physical layer is applied to a fast Ethernet(100). The fast Ethernet comprises a first module(101) and a second module(111). The first module includes MAC(Media Access Control)(103), PCS(Physical Coding Sublayer)(105), and PMA(Physical Media Attachment)(107). The first module is matched with the second module physically or logically by a multi lane. The second module comprises a PMD(Physical Media Dependent)(113).
