PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink replacement method for an inkjet recording device, capable of replacing an ink used for image recording with a different color ink while controlling generation or inclusion of bubbles.SOLUTION: An ink replacement method includes: a first color discharge step; a second color supply step; and a second color discharge and supply step. In the first color discharge step, a first color ink left in a sub tank 50, a supply flow path 55 and a recording head 70 is discharged. In the second color discharge step, a second color ink is supplied to the sub tank 50. In the second color discharge and supply step, a first type of discharge procedure and a first type of supply procedure are executed each a predetermined number of times. In the first type of discharge procedure, a partial amount of the supplied second color ink is discharged. In the first type of supply procedure, the second color ink is supplied to the sub tank 50. The first color discharge step is performed with the internal pressure of the sub tank 50 being atmospheric pressure, and the first type of discharge procedure is performed with the internal pressure being higher than the atmospheric pressure. |
