PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting method capable of eliminating the need of excess buffer on the reception side, shortening delay time on the reception side, and substantially reducing an average rate of data transfer in a communication channel.SOLUTION: A TTS conversion processing unit 5 adds a time stamp to each packet of an MPEG-2 TS (Transport Stream) to convert the MPEG-2 TS to an MPEG-2 TTS (Time-stamped Transport Stream). A group configuration unit 6 collects a predetermined number of packets of the MPEG-2 TTS to configure a group. A Null packet removal unit 7 deletes a Null packet from the group. A transmission unit 8 forward closely shifts a packet of the MPEG-2 TTS in the group from which the Null packet is deleted to convert the group to a RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) packet, and transmits the RTP packet to a communication channel 3. |
