PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing deterioration of image quality caused by a difference in electrical resistance in a transfer unit even when performing image formation on a sheet having wider width than that of a previous sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus causes resistance detection means to detect electrical resistance of an area in a transfer unit where a previous transfer material has passed and electrical resistance of an area where the previous transfer material has not passed, and controls a transfer power source when a toner image is transferred to a subsequent transfer material on the basis of a detected result. |
