PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce gloss and texture of an object more faithfully according to a change in an observation distance when reproducing an image of the object on an output device.SOLUTION: In an image processing device, first, a deflection characteristic acquisition section 202 acquires deflection characteristic data on a surface of an object. An actual observation distance acquisition section 204 and a virtual observation distance acquisition section 205 acquires an actual observation distance between an output device and an observer, and a virtual observation distance with respect to the object reproduced on the output device, respectively. A deflection characteristic conversion section 206 calculates an actual observation opening angle in vision and a virtual observation opening angle according to the actual observation distance and the virtual observation distance, and according to a difference between the two opening angles, performs filtering to the deflection characteristic data. Then, using the converted deflection characteristic data, a rendering processing section 207 performs rendering to image data of the object. |
